The Swedish Muaythai Federation and WMC Co-ordinator Kasra Ashami and IFMA Vice President Mats Soderstrom stated that Muaythai in Scandinavia has gone from strong to stronger.
Swedish Muaythai Federation fully recognised by the Swedish government under the WMC and IFMA banner is one of the most active federations in the world.
Nordic championships are organised annually and with the support of the WMC, they organise one of the biggest professional promotions in Scandinavia, the Rumble of the Kings, which will hold its next event on 26th of November, which will see a WMC Nordic welterweight 4-men tournament.
On Saturday October 22nd, the City of Uppsala saw a WMC European junior welterweight title (-63,503 kg), which took place at the Fyrishov Arena during the IRFA (International Ring Fight Arena) event. The bout was between 2 former IFMA champions:

Organised by Elite Boxing Russia—the recently established Russian subsidiary of Bangkok-based Elite Boxing—the inaugural event in this new muaythai series was held in the 1,600-seat Tyumen Circus Arena in the central Russian city of Tyumen on September 8 and marks an exciting new milestone for the EB Group as it continues to penetrate new markets.
Following its successful launch, EFN Russia will be held every three months at the same venue. The series takes over from the popular Ice Storm muaythai series which was previously held at the same venue until it was acquired and rebranded by Head of Elite Boxing Russia, Stanislav Bukhlov.

Under the brand name Elite Fight Night Russia, events will be held every 3 months at the 1,600-seat Tyumen Circus Arena in the central Russian city of Tyumen. The first event is scheduled for September 8, 2011.
The show, which once again promises to bring an exciting night, will be hosted in conjunction with the local promoters, Oleg Kudrinsky and Stanislav Bukhlov, and sanctioned by the WMC.
Each Elite Fight Night Russia event will be filmed in HD and distributed to 180 countries around the world through Elite Boxing’s network of broadcast partners, including ESPN/Star Sports and Eurosport.

One of the most anticipated match-ups in the history of Muaythai takes place in the Russian city on Chelyabinsk, Russia, on 23 February when Thailand's icon Kaoklai Kaennorasing defends his WBC MUAYTHAI Light Heavyweight Title against the Russian fighting superstar Artem Levin.
Kaoklai (26), regarded as a generational master champion of stand-up martial arts, faces a strong challenger in the outstanding Levin (25) who gets his WBC world title shot on home turf after notching an impressive record of 39 wins for only 3 loses. 29 of his wins come by way of KO. Levin is the Showtime champion and also the current champion of the World Martial Arts Games.
The event has been billed as a major sports fixture for Chelyabinsk with the city's ice-hockey arena stadium being converted into a boxing stadium with the ice covered by a temporary warmed floor.
A special feature of the event will be the staging of the WBC Asian Boxing Council welterweight championship between Steven Maxwell (Australia) and Russian challenger Anton Novikov who won the youth world championship.
Three days later on February 26 there will be a six-man international tournament fought under WBC Muaythai rules and regulations. The scheduled bouts are as follows:
